The US Preventive Services Task Force has released its fall prevention guidelines for community-dwelling adults aged 65 and over.
According to the report, “the USPSTF recommends exercise interventions to prevent falls in community-dwelling adults 65 years or older who are at increased risk for falls.” It additionally recommends “Effective exercise interventions include supervised individual physical therapy and group exercise classes”.
The report continues with it’s recommendation “that clinicians individualize the decision to offer multifactorial interventions to prevent falls to community-dwelling adults 65 years or older who are at increased risk for falls.”
